quit smoking ovulation effect
medroxyprogesterone-if I quit smoking the risk just before taking the first dose is that this lowering of blood clots?
I have just been prescribed medroxyprogesterone to jump start ovulation, and that has not happened for almost 4 months old. I'm not pregnant. I took many blood tests that appeared normal. (FSH, LH, thyroid and prolactin). I had an ultrasound and revealed to me that I have a cyst on my right ovary. I did have a 4 month period. I'm 25 years old and have been smoking on and off about 6 years. The warning to take medroxyprogesterone is sometimes severe side effects were blood clots blood (in the lungs and legs, etc), and smokers have an increased risk of blood clots taking this medication. I have been prescribed 10 mg of medroxyprogesterone take 1 time a day for 10 days. My question is: If I quit the day before taking my first tablet, so as to cover the treatment, which is 10 days. Will it reduce my risk of having a blood clot, or stay the same risk as I have been smoking for 6 years?
I think you should call or go talk to the doctor and tell him that the smoke and ask them before starting the drug. My sister died at age 24 from a blood clot that went to your heart, yes he smoked and was taking birth control. The doctor did not know he smoked, I ask your advice doctor, not ours.
