lung abcess after cancer

My husband has a lung abscess and was in the hospital?

I woied my husband so much! He was in hospital for pneumonia and lung abscess. Doctors say that both are improving, but I am afraid that the lung abscess can lead to cancer. Can anyone help me or calm my fears? Thank you! Serious replies only please.

Kathleen – Calm your fears. Snuff smoke and breathing asbestos fibers can lead to a couple of types of lung cancer but there is no proven relationship between an abscess and subsequent lung cancer. Sometimes the opposite can happen if a person first develops a cancer that then causes an abscess. For now, do not worry.
